Titans Slide Past Colts As Favorites To Win The AFC South

We’re starting to get into the weeds of the NFL season.

Week 6 is here, so a decent portion of the football calendar is already over.

As the weeks go on, the odds for NFL futures bets start to change.

Now that they’ve had a decent look at the league’s teams, sportsbooks are starting to make adjustments.

For example, division odds is one area that’s been on the move. Odds for the AFC South are starting to shift at most Indiana sportsbooks.

The division is home to the Indianapolis Colts, and might be turning into a tug-of-war to see which team will come out on top.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans

Right now, the Colts are sitting with a 3-2 record.

That record could be spotless if not for some inconsistent quarterback play from Philip Rivers. The 38-year-old quarterback has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns so far this year.

Meanwhile, Ryan Tannehill and company are taking the AFC South by storm.

The Titans just dismantled the Bills 42-16 in a rare Tuesday Night Football outing. That win moved them to a flawless 4-0 for the season.

With Tennessee soaring and Indy slipping, there’s been some changes to the AFC South odds.

AFC South betting odds

Heading into the season, the Colts were slight favorites to win the AFC South, but it was basically a toss up.

FanDuel’s odds had the Colts out in front, but it’s starting to look like the Titans may end up being a nice value pick. Here’s how those preseason odds were looking for the division:

  • Indianapolis Colts: +135
  • Tennessee Titans: +165
  • Houston Texans: +300
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: +2,000

It’s only been a handful of weeks since then, but the Titans have already moved themselves into position to be the firm favorites.

The up-to-date betting odds have the Titans as big winners, and the Texans as big losers. These odds are uniform across most of Indiana’s betting apps.

  • Tennessee Titans: -200
  • Indianapolis Colts: +175
  • Houston Texans: +1,700
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: +10,000

PointsBet, which recently became an official sportsbook partner of the Colts, is the only book with different odds right now. Currently, the sportsbook has the Titans at -189 and the Colts at +165.

In terms of value, the best time to bet on the Titans to win the AFC South has already passed.

However, right now might end up being the best time to bet on the Colts.

If you think the team will be able to take control of the division throughout the rest of the season, then now is a great time to get in on the action.

If the Colts end up winning more games and the Titans start losing, then the line will move to favor the Colts and the value in betting on them will be gone.
