Indiana Casino Revenue Rises Above $200M In May

Indiana casinos rebounded in May after a dip in April.

The state’s 13 casinos generated $211 million in adjusted gross revenue in May, 8% higher than the previous month ($195 million) and 10% better year-over-year.

The state collected around $60.2 million from the robust month.

Hard Rock remains most popular in Indiana

The state could have collected even more money from Indiana online casinos. Lawmakers are expected to take up the issue again next year. Until then, players can play with Indiana online sweepstakes casinos.

The most popular casino in the state continues to be Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana. It outpaced its competitors in both slots and tables. Hard Rock has more slot machines than any other casino in the state (1,768) and is fourth in table games (76).

In May, Hard Rock took in $37 million in adjusted gross revenue (AGR). It collected $28.4 million from slots and $10.4 million from table games.

Horseshoe Indianapolis was second in May at $27.7 million AGR. It made $23.4 million off its 1,516 slots and $4.3 million from its table games. The casino has the most table games in Indiana with 87.

Caesars Southern Indiana came in third at $22 million. The casino collected $16.4 million from slots and was second in table game AGR with $5.5 million.

The AGR for the remaining Indiana casinos:

  • Horseshoe Hammond: $21 million
  • Harrah’s Hoosier Park: $21 million
  • Bally’s Evansville: $15 million
  • Ameristar Casino: $15 million
  • Hollywood Lawrenceburg: $13 million
  • Terre Haute Casino: $12 million
  • Blue Chip Casino: $11 million
  • Belterra Casino: $7 million
  • French Lick Resort: $7 million
  • Rising Star Casino: $4 million

Nearly 84% of revenue comes from slots

Slot machines continue to generate most of the state’s casino revenue. In May, $177 million, or 83.9% of the state’s $211 million AGR, came from slot machines.

The casinos that generated the most slot machine revenue in May:

  • Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana: $28.8 million
  • Horseshoe Indianapolis: $23.4 million
  • Harrah’s Hoosier Park: $18.2 million

The state has a total of 611 table games that brought in $38 million. The three casinos that generated the most revenue from table games in May:

  • Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana: $10.4 million
  • Caesars Southern Indiana: $5.5 million
  • Horseshoe Hammond: $4.8 million
