With the transition to fall and the end of summer vacations, September is one of the busiest months of the year at Indiana casinos.

Casino patrons can expect to enjoy a whirlwind of entertainment and promotions this month.

PlayIndiana has put together a September guide to concerts, promotions and other events at select Indiana casinos.

Hard Rock Northern Indiana

Indiana online casinos are still illegal, but that could change as soon as next year. A bill to make online casinos legal in The Hoosier State is expected to be filed during the next legislative session.

As the Hard Rock brand built its reputation on offering top-flight music entertainment, it’s no surprise that the chain’s casino in Gary features a full slate of entertainment year-round.

The facility regularly features Chicago-based musicians. September’s music lineup spans several genres, from blues to electro-pop to country.

Here’s the September lineup at the casino’s two concert stages:

  • Sept. 8: Tad Robinson (soul-blues)
  • Sept. 9: Ivy Ford (blues)
  • Sept. 15: GeminiiDRAGON (Louisiana soul, rock and blues)
  • Sept. 15: Too Hype Crew (old school hip-hop tribute band)
  • Sept. 16: Ultrabeat (electro pop)
  • Sept. 16: Toronzo Cannon (Chicago blues)
  • Sept. 22: Nick Moos Band (blues)
  • Sept. 22: The FeelGood Orchestra (Chicago-based tribute band)
  • Sept. 23: ReTurn2 Soul (classic R&B, Motown and jazz)
  • Sept. 23: Hairbangers Ball (’80s hair metal/glam rock tribute band)
  • Sept. 29: Joe Marcinek Band (blues, funk, jazz fusion)
  • Sept. 29: Jamrose (country)
  • Sept. 30: Soul 2 the Bone (soul, jazz, gospel)
  • Sept. 30: Luke Repass (blues, Southern rock, oldies)

Horseshoe Indianapolis

Horse races

The Horseshoe Indianapolis is a great venue for horse racing enthusiasts. It is the only track in the state with live thoroughbred and quarter horse racing. The season runs through November.

  • First Post Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.
  • First Post Thursdays at 2:10 p.m.

The post is the estimated time that horses are ready in their starting positions. The venue is also family-friendly with a playground near the paddock.

Casino promotions

Horseshoe Indianapolis also offers special promotions throughout the month.

  • Golden Gamer: Patrons aged 50 and over can participate in drawings on the casino floor from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the hour. Winners receive up to $250 in free slot play.

Horseshoe Hammond

While other casinos have great entertainment lineups, none come close to the September slate at Horseshoe Hammond.
