With the transition to fall and the end of summer vacations, September is one of the busiest months of the year at Indiana casinos.
Casino patrons can expect to enjoy a whirlwind of entertainment and promotions this month.

Hard Rock Northern Indiana
Indiana online casinos are still illegal, but that could change as soon as next year. A bill to make online casinos legal in The Hoosier State is expected to be filed during the next legislative session.
As the Hard Rock brand built its reputation on offering top-flight music entertainment, it’s no surprise that the chain’s casino in Gary features a full slate of entertainment year-round.
The facility regularly features Chicago-based musicians. September’s music lineup spans several genres, from blues to electro-pop to country.

- Sept. 23: Hairbangers Ball (’80s hair metal/glam rock tribute band)
- Sept. 29: Joe Marcinek Band (blues, funk, jazz fusion)
- Sept. 29: Jamrose (country)

Horseshoe Indianapolis
Horse races
The Horseshoe Indianapolis is a great venue for horse racing enthusiasts. It is the only track in the state with live thoroughbred and quarter horse racing. The season runs through November.
- First Post Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.
- First Post Thursdays at 2:10 p.m.
The post is the estimated time that horses are ready in their starting positions. The venue is also family-friendly with a playground near the paddock.
Casino promotions
Horseshoe Indianapolis also offers special promotions throughout the month.
- Golden Gamer: Patrons aged 50 and over can participate in drawings on the casino floor from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the hour. Winners receive up to $250 in free slot play.
- Caesars Rewards App Offer: Thursdays, Sept. 7 and Sept. 21, patrons can receive a 5X reward credit multiplier in the Caesars Reward app.
- 50K Cash is King: Every Friday evening in September, casino guests receive a complimentary entry in a drawing to win cash prizes. The promotion concludes with a Grand Finale winner on Sept. 29 for a prize of up to $2,500.
- Colts Touchdown Multipliers: On Indianapolis Colts game days, patrons are guaranteed a 2X credit multiplier in the Caesars Reward app for each touchdown the team makes. Game days in September are all on Sundays: Sept. 10, 17 and 24.
Horseshoe Hammond
While other casinos have great entertainment lineups, none come close to the September slate at Horseshoe Hammond. The casino kicked off the month with Grammy-award winning soul singer Ledisi and continues with R&B legends like Millie Jackson and Johnny Gill. Comedian and nationally syndicated radio host Rickey Smiley is also performing at the casino this month.

Caesars Southern Indiana
Caesars Southern Indiana features Super Senior Wednesday in September. The promotion gives gamblers 55 and older who are members of the Caesars Rewards program a 3X reward credit multiplier every Wednesday. Senior patrons who earn at least 70 tier credits on Wednesdays also get a free entrée at the casino’s The Piazza restaurant.
The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band performs at the casino on Sept. 30. And if you are a die-hard fan of legendary rock band Foreigner, get your tickets this month for the Caesars Southern Indiana stop of the band’s farewell tour on Nov. 3.
Blue Chip Casino
Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City has a full slate of bands this month at its Rocks Lounge. Some highlights:

- Sept. 16: The Gina Martini Band (blues, jazz, soul)
- Sept. 22: The Hipposonics (pop, country R&B)
- Sept. 23: Love & Rock (women’s tribute band playing rock, pop, R7B, country)
- Sept. 23: Crosstown Classic (cover band playing rock, country, pop)
- Sept. 29: The Wolf & Gypsy Band (Southern rock and country)
- Sept. 30: Coverlicious (cover band playing rock, pop, country, funk)
- Sept. 30: Just the ’80s (1980s cover band)
Key events at other Indiana casinos
Rising Star Casino and Resort in Rising Sun offers free live entertainment all month at its Anchor Lounge featuring local and regional bands:
- Sept. 9: Lincoln Street
- Sept. 16: Strange Brew
- Sept. 23: Wildheart
- Sept. 30: DJ Adkins Band
Belterra Casino Resort in Florence has a great show this month for Eagles fans. Former band member Don Felder performs on Sept. 16.
Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg is hosting a Cincinnati Bengals watch party on Sept. 10 with former Cincinnati Bengals running back Ickey Woods. The event will feature a meet-and-greet with Woods and giveaways.
Patrons can place bets at the casino’s Barstool Sportsbook and head to the watch party. The Bengals will be playing rival Cleveland Browns that day.
