IU vs. Purdue: The Best College Basketball Odds for Indiana’s Big Rivalry

Posted on January 19, 2022

College basketball fans are gearing up for the next chapter of IU vs Purdue. The in-state rivals will be facing off on Jan. 20.

The first matchup between the two teams is taking place in Bloomington. IU will have the home-court advantage, but Purdue is still the betting favorite.

The Boilermakers will have their own shot at hosting the rivalry matchup, but fans will have to wait until March 5 for that game in West Lafayette.

Gamblers can wager on all the action thanks to Indiana sports betting.

Purdue dominates the all-time rivalry

If you’re a fan of the cream and crimson, you might want to look away.

The Boilermakers lead the all-time series against IU 124-89. Recent history has been piling onto those numbers.

Purdue has won its last nine games against IU Basketball. The Hoosiers haven’t been able to pick up a win since 2016.

In other words, an entire set of undergrads came and went in Bloomington without a single win against their biggest rival.

The recent history has been bleak for IU, but the team has a chance to set the record straight this Thursday.

However, that might be easier said than done, especially considering that the Purdue Boilermakers are one of the best teams in the country.

IU vs. Purdue betting odds

Purdue is the No. 4-ranked team in the country according to the latest AP Poll.

Jaden Ivey has been leading the charge for the Boilermakers so far this season. The team is currently sitting at 15-2, with their only losses coming against Wisconsin and Rutgers.

On the other side of the matchup, Trayce Jackson-Davis and the IU Hoosiers are currently 13-4.

Jackson-Davis left Monday’s game against Nebraska with an injury. Despite that, the Hoosiers managed to pull off their first road win of the season.

IU’s prized player tweeted after the game to reassure fans about his status against Purdue. If all goes according to plan, Jackson-Davis should be ready to go for the rivalry game.

Assembly Hall is a tough building for visitors to win in. Indiana is 11-0 on its home court this season.

As if the rivalry game wasn’t enough, Purdue will have its work cut out for it playing in enemy territory.

Things may be a little lopsided between these teams in terms of national prominence, but this matchup still has plenty of potential to be one worth remembering.

Online sportsbooks in Indiana like Purdue’s chances for the upcoming bout. The Boilermakers are the current favorites for the matchup.

That’s likely to remain the case given Purdue’s national ranking. Here’s a quick look at the live odds for IU vs Purdue:
