It Seemed Unlikely, But Pat McAfee Ends Football Season A Winner

Posted on January 5, 2021 - Last Updated on March 20, 2024

Pat McAfee is a winner heading into the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

The FanDuel personality came through with a winning set of picks to save his betting season.

Pat’s Picks went 2-1 over the weekend to snag a combined record of 54-53 between college football and NFL betting. That razor-thin winning margin was just enough to put him in the green.

PlayIndiana has been tracking McAfee’s betting records since the start of the college football and NFL seasons.

McAfee’s NFL betting record stuck at even

McAfee had a rollercoaster of a year when it came to his betting picks. After a hot start to the football season, most of his picks have fallen flat in recent weeks.

Pat’s NFL Picks had a negative record heading into Week 17, so there was a lot riding on this weekend’s slate.

When the dust settled, the former Indianapolis Colt’s NFL betting record landed dead even at 40-40.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns

Pat’s Pick: Under 42.5

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

College football gives Pat McAfee a winning gambling season

McAfee certainly cut it close when it came to his betting record.

His 40-40 finish might not be a spectacular showing, but at least it wasn’t a losing season.

Pat avoided a losing record by rallying in the final three weeks of the NFL regular season. McAfee went 7-5 with those picks to inch his way to even.

But even though his regular season NFL record finished at 40-40, he did end up in the positive overall.

McAfee hasn’t released a slate of college football picks in weeks, but in the end, his early season college picks are what ended up saving him. Here’s a look at McAfee’s betting records for the year:

  • NFL: 40-40
  • College Football: 14-13
  • Combined: 54-53

McAfee wouldn’t have ended up as a winner without those College GameDay picks from earlier in the football calendar. At least through the end of the NFL regular season, you’ve been a winner if you’ve taken all of Pat’s Picks.
