Pat McAfee Is Running Out Of Time To Save His NFL Betting Record

Posted on December 29, 2020

2020 has been an up-and-down football betting year for Pat McAfee.

Pat’s Picks started on fire. Back in October, his combined betting record between the NFL and college football was 30-19.

Since then, it’s been mostly downhill.

That hot start to the season kept his record alive for weeks on end, but it didn’t last forever. McAfee has been in and out of negative territory since NFL Week 14, and time is running out to right the ship.

Pat McAfee rebounds with strong NFL Week 15 betting record

Week 15 was the turnaround that Pat’s Picks needed.

McAfee’s betting slate went 3-1, which briefly brought his NFL record back to even at 36-36.

A bad week could have been disastrous for him. An 0-4 showing would have put his back against the wall for the rest of the regular season.

Pat’s NFL Picks go 2-3 in Week 16

Unfortunately for McAfee, he couldn’t keep his betting momentum going into Week 16. Pat’s Picks may have slipped to 2-3, but things could be worse.

At 38-39, McAfee still has a chance to end the NFL regular season as a winner.

His weekly NFL picks are released during the “Hammer Dahn” portion of the Pat McAfee Show.

Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Football Team

Pat’s Pick: Over 44.5

Pat’s Explanation:

“I think both teams will be able to score. I’m not sure why, just think they will. And 44.5 seems low. That seems a bit low.”

Final Score: Panthers 20, Football Team 13

Did Pat Win? No

Green Bay Packers vs. Tennessee Titans

Pat’s Pick: Packers -3, Robert Tonyan Jr. anytime scorer

Pat’s Explanation:

“The more and more I thought about it, I was worried Derrick Henry is just going to be kind of mowing down the Packers defense, which could happen, but Aaron’s going to be able to just do whatever the hell he wants.”

Final Score: Packers 40, Titans 14

Did Pat Win? 1-1. Packers cover, Tonyan fails to score

Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Pat’s Pick: Colts -1.5

Pat’s Explanation:

“I haven’t bet on the Colts a lot this year in this show because I don’t want to be heartbroken, but I feel like those teams are going in different directions. So count me in as part of the 99% that’s betting on the Colts, which means inevitably, that’s going to lose.”

Final Score: Steelers 28, Colts 24

Did Pat Win? No

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Pat’s Pick: Cowboys +2.5

Final Score: Cowboys 37, Eagles 17

Did Pat Win? Yes

McAfee controls his own destiny in Week 17

McAfee will have a lot riding on this week’s slate as the end of the NFL regular season looms.

The FanDuel personality has a chance to end the year on top if he can pull out a winning slate of picks.

Here’s a look at how his betting records stand heading into this week:

  • NFL: 38-39
  • College Football: 14-13
  • Combined: 52-52

With his combined record even at 52-52, everything rides on this upcoming week’s schedule.

PlayIndiana is tracking McAfee’s record all season long, so check in next week to see if he’s a winner or a loser heading into the playoffs.
