The US Heads Into Ryder Cup Tournament As The Betting Favorite

Posted on September 23, 2021 - Last Updated on March 20, 2024

The Majors might be over this year, but there’s still plenty of golf action left on the calendar.

The US and Europe will be facing off in another international showdown at the 2021 Ryder Cup. The action begins this Friday and runs until Sunday, Sept. 26.

For those that like betting on golf in Indiana, sportsbooks have you covered this weekend.

US enters as betting favorite for Ryder Cup

This year’s Ryder Cup will be taking place at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin.

The US team features many of the sport’s biggest names. For example, golfers like Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka will be front and center.

On the European side of things, guys like Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are at the point of attack.

The Europeans have won seven of the last nine Ryder Cups, so the US will be hungry for a win.

DraftKings Sportsbook is taking wagers on the eventual winner, and right now, the US is the betting favorite.

  • USA: -215
  • Europe: +240
  • Tie: +1,200

BetMGM hands out bonus bets for tournament

BetMGM is looking to reel in the golf gamblers out there.

The sportsbook has a new promotion for the Ryder Cup that could be a great value for Hoosiers.

You can score bonus bets at BetMGM for wagering at least $100 on the tournament. That $100 will have to be on a single bet with odds of -200 or greater.

Once you’ve met that requirement, you’ll win a $5 bonus bet for every match that the US wins throughout the weekend.

All you have to do to take advantage of this deal is sign up for BetMGM Indiana and opt-in to the promotion.

With so much golf taking place this weekend, there’s some potential for your bonus bets to really stack up if the US is doing well.

Unibet Ryder Cup Showdown

Unibet is also hopping in on the Ryder Cup promotion fun as well.

The company’s “Ryder Cup Showdown” is similar to BetMGM’s deal since they both involve bonus bets.

You’ll have to wager at least $50 on the US or Europe to win the tournament. Once you have, you’ll be qualified for a free $5 bet for every hole that your team wins by.

For example, if you bet on the US and they win the Ryder Cup by five holes, then you’ll take home $25 worth of bonus bets.

If you were already planning to bet on the Ryder Cup, then this is a solid way to win some bonus bets on top of your original wager.

A $50 buy-in with this promotion is also cheaper than BetMGM’s $100 threshold.

More promotions could trickle out during the tournament. If you’re looking for some extra deals, then be sure to check in with your favorite Indiana betting app for the full list of options.
