Odds boost promotions at FOX Bet Indiana
You’ll see the tie-in between the betting technology and the FOX Sports team in action when it comes to the betting promotions.
Most of the promos are odds boosts. These involve daily picks made by the FOX Sports team and The Stars Group giving a boost to the odds of those picks.
Each boost gets a marketing twist. These do change depending on the major sports in season. Here are some examples:
- The Wright Bet Boost: Each Wednesday, Nick Wright will come up with a parlay. The odds receive a boost.
- Cousin Sal’s Money Back Special: This promo gives you a bonus bet of $25 is Cousin Sal’s special bet loses (and you have bet).
- Lock It In Boost: The Lock It In squad will come up with a parlay each Friday, which will have its odds boosted.
- Colin Cowherd’s Marquee Super Boost: To get better odds on this Saturday promo, Cowherd needs to go 3 for 3.
With these FOX Bet promos changing all the time, it is worth keeping a close eye on its “Promotions” page. This section has a tab on the app and website.
FOX Bet and Stars Rewards
When you sign up with FOX Bet, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the Stars Rewards program.
In states where online casino games and poker are allowed, this crosses these areas, allowing you to get bonuses tailored to your play.
For Indiana, the focus is currently on sports betting only, with rewards based on the types of bets you make.
Instead of points-for-bonuses-type scheme like those available at other Indiana sportsbooks, FOX Bet gives you “treasure chests.”
The more money you bet, the more chests and higher level (bronze, silver, gold, etc.) ones you receive. When you open them, the prizes are random. These are usually bonus bets of various sizes or “gold coins,” which you can use to purchase bonuses.
FOX Bet IN Sportsbook: Creating a new account
Whichever way you access FOX Bet, registration follows the same process.
You enter your email address, name, address and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Download the FOX Bet app
FOX Bet went live in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before arriving in Indiana. In the meantime, FOX Bet perfected the app download process and geolocation technology.
Downloading is quick and easy.
The best way to find the app is to visit www.FoxBet.com from your phone or tablet. You’ll see a message under the two welcome bonus offers that says “Get Started.” Clicking here will initiate the installation of the right app for your device.
You can download the iOS app via the Apple App Store.
The Android app is downloadable directly from the FOX Bet website (Google does not allow gambling apps in its Play store).
The FOX Bet app includes the registration, cashier and full betting interface, so you don’t need to access the desktop site first.
Viewing the web browser version on your computer does give you more room to see the lists of bets. This “responsive” design automatically adjusts to your device’s screen size, even on your smartphone.
FOX Bet sports, games and betting slip
Once you are logged in, the main screen of the FOX Bet app shows a series of ball icons (scrollable) and three tabs for key areas at the top. Those show the “Highlights” (previews of big games, news and offers), “Promos” (centered on the picks and boosts) and “Results.”
To the right of this is a toggle for switching between American, fractional and decimal odds.
Ball icons, accompanied by the acronyms for the major sports, take you directly to the areas showing those games.
Major sports like football, baseball and basketball are on the left side, with plenty more options as you scroll to the right. This design replaces a left-hand listing, which is popular with other sportsbook apps.
There is another menu on the right that includes your account information and betting history.
When you select a sport, the most significant games appear below these menus.
Also, there are filters for you to explore pro and college games, or zoom in on individual divisions. On busy game-days, the search function may be the quickest way to locate individual teams.
You can expand each game listing by clicking on one of the teams. You will see more options, including props and period bets. When you find the right betting line, click on it and it moves onto your bet slip, which is accessible via another icon.
Once on your betting slip, you can add in the amount to wager. It will automatically show you the amount you will win if your selection comes through. Here, you can combine bets into parlays or other multiples, or tap the “X” to remove them if no longer needed.
What sports are available at FOX Bet Indiana?
With full coverage of the major leagues and featured games, you’ll see a big tie-in between the TV show and highlights within the apps.
What surprises many new bettors is the depth of the sports coverage at FOX Bet. The sportsbook also includes college games and minor leagues in many sports.
The NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB games are the most popular betting markets. Soccer is also prevalent. These are also the subject of the FOX TV presenters’ odds boost promos throughout the week.
In addition, you can wager on golf, tennis, MMA, boxing, Formula One, NASCAR, rugby and cricket at FOX Bet.
The site has coverage of international sports, such as the MLS, European, and UK leagues plus more international staples from all around the world.
New bet types at FOX Bet Indiana
Here are three betting formats you’ll find at FOX Bet:
- Live Betting: You can bet on games that are in progress. Also called in-play betting, it works in two ways. The moneyline, spread and totals will change with the action, allowing for additional wagers. You will also get the chance to bet on micro-events, for example, a goal being scored from a set piece. Note that live betting is available at several other Indiana sportsbooks.
- Cash Out Betting: Some books call this early redemption betting. This sets a price for any wager you’d like to resolve early. That can be a partially completed parlay, or a money line bet where the game is underway.
- Custom Bets: This interactive idea works via Twitter. If you want to make a bet which is not available via the app, you can tweet #CustomBet and a team will consider your proposal. If they like it, odds are given, and any bettor at FOX Bet can then place a wager.
Regular bet types at FOX Bet Indiana
Some bets, especially props and period betting, are sport-specific. The list below covers the regular bets, which apply to most sports:
- Moneyline: Your basic win bet.
- Totals: Combined points for both teams.
- Spread: FOX Bet add points/goals to the underdog.
- Props: Bets on individual player performance.
- Period Bets: For example, first-quarter totals.
- Futures: Season-long bets on teams or players.
- Parlays: Three+ team bets.
- Round Robins: Multiples bets where every team plays each other.
- Teasers: Parlay bets with flexible spreads.
While you can switch to fractional or decimal odds if you prefer them, the default is American odds. This will show the lines in terms of the outcome of a $100 bet.
You can bet whatever amount you wish; however, this is a simple way to show the odds. For example, if you see a team at +250, you would win $250 for a $100 bet.
Negative lines show how much you would need to bet to win $100.
For example, lines in FOX Bet showing -200 would require you to bet $200 to win an extra $100 (you get your stake back in both cases).
FOX Bet deposits and payouts
In other states, PokerStars, which is behind the FOX Bet platform, offers a branded debit card to facilitate smooth deposits and withdrawals. This works with the Play+ system.
You’ll need to apply separately from your FOX Bet account, then load funds via your bank from your regular cards. You then have a secure, separate card that you can use for deposits, withdrawals, spending and ATM withdrawals.
There are plenty of other deposit methods available.
These include bank cards (Visa and Mastercard from all major banks). You can transfer via your bank using instant e-checks (ACH deposits), pay in cash at the cage, or opt for third-party eWallet systems including Skrill and PayPal (if added in Indiana as it is in NJ).
Finally, you can make cash deposits via PayNearMe at 7-Eleven stores.
Withdrawal options are ACH (e-check), cash at the cage, prepaid card or PayPal (if offered and a deposit is made using it).
Responsible gambling in Indiana
FOX Bet goes further than merely providing information and tools to assist those with gambling problems.
If you check the “Responsible Gambling” page, you’ll find this starts with a mission statement that links to an interactive presentation on how The Stars Group is handling this area.
You’ll find the usual information on age verification and identifying gambling problems (via a questionnaire) under this. Self-exclusion is then explained, along with detailed instructions for those that want to take this longer-term step.
You will also be able to set deposit and betting limits and organize a temporary timeout from betting at FOX Bet.
Finally, for those that need extra help, you’ll find links to both local and national agencies.
Customer service and contact information
The Stars Group built a solid reputation internationally for speedy and effective customer service.
It uses a contact form as a primary method of getting in touch, which you can access at the end of the FAQ page.
This form will ask you for your email address, then give you drop-down menus for the common types of questions.
You can choose from:
- Deposits
- Promotions, Bonuses and Tickets
- My Stars Account
- Account Security and Verification
- Sports
- Information
- Software and Connectivity
- Responsible Gaming
- Withdrawals
You can also request a callback via this menu from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Each category goes into a subcategory before you are asked to type in your exact question. This detail helps get the query to the right department, giving you a faster turnaround.
The “Help” and “FAQ” sections are detailed, with answers to all the most common queries divided by topic.
