SportsBetting.com is heading to Indiana soon thanks to Carousel Group’s new deal with Caesars Entertainment.
That deal will have the two companies working together for the next 10 years.
With a Caesars partnership in hand, the sportsbook now has market access to Indiana, New Jersey and Iowa.
Carousel Group US expansion
The appropriately-named SportsBetting.com is more than just a gambling website, it’s also a mobile app for both iPhone and Android users. Right now, the app is only available in Colorado.
Carousel Group is a European company, but it’s looking to expand its reach within the US market.
According to Carousel CEO Daniel Graetzer, Caesars is the ideal partner for the company.
“We closed out 2020 with the launch of SportsBetting.com in Colorado and we are thrilled to start 2021 with the announcement of our multi-state agreement with Caesars, a giant in the casino industry and the perfect strategic partner to help us aggressively expand our market access in the US.”
Competitive Indiana sportsbook market
Indiana already has 10 different online sportsbooks, with more on the way this year.
SportsBetting.com is just one of a handful of new companies making its way to Indiana.
The full list of newcomers includes big companies such as:
- Barstool Sportsbook
- WynnBET
- 888Sport
- SBK Sportsbook
Indiana’s market will have more competition than ever with so many new brands on the way.
Even companies that launched in Indiana over a year ago are still battling for the attention of the state’s gamblers.
Things are only going to get more difficult as the market continues to mature, so SportsBetting.com will need to make a splash if it wants to become a gambling staple in the Hoosier State.
SportsBetting.com Indiana casino partner
Carousel will have to find a casino partner before it can bring its sportsbook to Indiana.
Tethering to an in-person casino is one of the legal requirements for a sportsbook launch.
Carousel’s deal with Caesars is providing the market access, so SportsBetting.com will be working with one of the company’s properties. In Indiana, that means either Harrah’s Hoosier Park or Indiana Grand Casino.
Indiana Grand might be the ideal pick, since the casino doesn’t have any sports betting partners yet.
On the other hand, Caesars might decide to double up over at Hoosier Park. The casino is already working with 888Sport, so adding another partnership there might take priority.
Carousel Group Indiana online casino
Carousel’s US expansion is about more than just sports betting.
The company wants a piece of the online casino action across the country.
Carousel plans to launch its online casino in New Jersey first.
Online casinos are typically much more lucrative than sports betting, so the move makes sense.
Most of the country doesn’t have legal online casinos yet, so it’s all about setting up for the future.
Despite the efforts of Sen. Jon Ford, Indiana wasn’t able to legalize online casinos this year. Legalization should have a better shot in 2022.
Carousel will be ready if and when that happens.
Since SportsBetting.com will already be open for business by then, the online casino side of the company will be able to launch quickly in Indiana when the time comes.
