The first UFC pay-per-view event of the year is shaping up to be a memorable one.

UFC 257 will take place this Saturday, Jan. 22 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The main event is a rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. McGregor knocked out Poirier in under two minutes during their first bout back in 2014.

UFC 257 betting odds

McGregor is the heavy favorite heading into the weekend. That’s no surprise considering how dominant the Irishman was the last time these two went head-to-head.

Despite that, this will only be McGregor’s third-ever lightweight fight.

He took home the lightweight belt in 2016 after knocking out Eddie Alvarez, and then turned it over to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

This weekend’s McGregor-Poirier fight won’t be for the title, but whoever wins the matchup will likely be going for the lightweight crown in their next fight.

All of Indiana’s online sportsbooks have McGregor as the heavy favorite. Here’s a look at DraftKings’ odds for the main event:

  • Conor McGregor: -305
  • Dustin Poirier: +250

DraftKings UFC 257 New User Promo

DraftKings has the best promotions out there for UFC 257 by far.

One of those is a fantastic deal for new users only.

DraftKings is boosting McGregor’s odds to win by knockout in the first round all the way up to 257-1. The max bet for the deal is $1.

First thing’s first, if you don’t have a DraftKings account yet, you’ll have to sign up to take advantage of the promo.

Next up, just make your first deposit of at least $5 into your account, and you’re good to go!

Head to the “Sportsbook Promos” page on the website or app and opt-in to the deal.

After that, just click on the “McGregor to win by KO in the 1st Round” bet and select “BOOST THIS FIGHT.”

The promotion is a fantastic way to get started if you’re new to sports betting. There aren’t a lot of ways to turn $1 into $257, so DraftKings is really setting new gamblers off on the right foot here.

DraftKings Conor McGregor odds boost

Don’t worry existing gamblers, DraftKings hasn’t forgotten about you.

Even if you already have a DraftKings account, you can still use the sportsbook’s new odds boost for UFC 257.

That deal boosts McGregor’s odds to win the main event from –250 to +100. That’s a steal for MMA gamblers.

With the original -250 odds, a $25 bet on McGregor would only win you $10. The new promotional odds boost those winnings to $25 for the same bet.

A chance to double your money by betting on a heavy favorite? Since deals like that are hard to come by, this will be a tough one to pass up.

There’s a $25 max bet for the promotion, so if you plan on betting on the main event, this is the deal for you.

FanDuel UFC Parlay Insurance promo

FanDuel is the only other Indiana sportsbook that has a UFC promo out there for this weekend’s fights.

The sportsbook’s new deal is for all the parlay lovers out there.

FanDuel’s Parlay Insurance promo is exactly how it sounds. If you place a UFC 257 parlay of at least five legs, FanDuel will refund you if exactly one leg loses.

However, it’s important to note that the deal will only refund you up to $25.

So for example, if your $50 UFC parlay only loses by one leg, then you’ll only receive $25 back from the insurance rather than the full $50 you wagered.

Regardless of the limit, it’s still a solid deal if you were already planning on parlay betting.

The deal works for both new and existing users, so everyone can get in on the action. All you have to do is opt-in to the deal in the “Promos” section of FanDuel’s website or app.

UFC 257 PointsBet prop betting

Promotions aren’t the only wake to shake up the typical MMA betting experience.

Prop bets are a fun way to mix things up, and PointsBet has a ton of options for UFC 257.

For example, you can bet on whether or not the McGregor-Poirier fight will go the distance. Right now, yes is the +300 underdog with no as the -455 favorite.

That tells us that oddsmakers are expecting the fight to end by either KO, TKO or submission. After the way the first matchup ended between these two, that’s hardly a shock.

Thankfully, PointsBet will let you bet on either fighter to win by any of those outcomes. McGregor or Poirier to win by KO, TKO or submission are all on the board.

You can even take things round-by-round. For example, McGregor to win by submission in round four, or Poirier to win by KO in round two.

PointsBet is taking action on the over/under for the number of rounds and even what time the fight will end. If you think the fight will finish between 3:00-3:59 minutes, then you can bet on it at PointsBet.

These are only a few of the options, too.

More deals and promotions could release closer to the event, so check in with your favorite sportsbook for the full list.
