MaximBet Sportsbook is on its way to Indiana.
Carousel Group is expanding its betting app into Indiana and Iowa. The sportsbook is already live and taking wagers in Colorado.
MaximBet still needs an Indiana license
All sorts of companies are looking to get in on the Indiana sports betting action. MaximBet is the latest sportsbook to set its sights on the state.
MaximBet has been tentatively on its way to the Hoosier State for almost a year.
However, the company hasn’t made much progress toward actually launching in the state. That’s finally changing today.
Carousel has announced that Indiana is the next state in the pipeline for the company.
MaximBet is on its way, but there are still some regulatory hoops left to jump through.
Online sportsbooks have to secure a temporary vendor license in Indiana. Grabbing that license from the Indiana Gaming Commission is the first big step toward opening for business.
Part of that process involves nailing down a casino partner. Online apps have to tether themselves to in-person casinos in Indiana before they can start taking wagers.
Thankfully for MaximBet, the company is already ahead of the game in that department.
Caesars partners with MaximBet
Carousel Group has a partnership in place with Caesars Entertainment. Caesars is providing the company with the market access it needs in Indiana.
In other words, when MaximBet launches in Indiana, it will be working with one of the Caesars casinos in the state.
The company owns a trio of Indiana properties:
- Horseshoe Hammond
- Indiana Grand Casino
- Harrah’s Hoosier Park
So the question is, which casino will MaximBet be working with?
Hammond already works with Unibet, and Hoosier Park is partners with Caesars Sportsbook.
That could make Indiana Grand a natural fit for MaximBet since the casino doesn’t have any online partners yet.
Other sportsbooks on the way
MaximBet might be the latest sportsbook to put Indiana in its crosshairs, but it isn’t the first.
All of the following betting platforms plan to open for business in the Hoosier State sometime this year:
- Hard Rock Sportsbook
- SI Sportsbook
- SBK Sportsbook
- fubo Sportsbook
- PlayUp
- Betprophet
- MaximBet
Six new sportsbooks opened their digital doors in the state’s market in 2021.
Depending on the timeline, MaximBet could become the first new sportsbook to launch in Indiana this year.
Indiana gamblers already have 13 legal online sportsbooks to pick from. When the dust settles at the end of 2022, that number could be well over 20.
